November News Flash!  I am proud to announce that

Bella Perla Gallery
         327 NW 9th Ave.
         Portland, Oregon
has chosen two of my paintings to offer for sale.  The gallery owner, Julie Martin, honored me with many positive comments on my work.  The pieces are available for viewing under the
Abstracts link to the left, and are “Music Theory:  Rest” and “Music Theory:  Hot Keys.”  Please visit the gallery’s website at www.bellaperlagallery.com for hours and more information.

I am currently enrolled in the Fine Art degree program at
Oregon College of Art and Craft
         www.ocac.edu
I already have a B.S. in music & art, and an M.A. in computer science, but I’ve long had a dream to complete a degree focusing in art.

My classes this fall are “Color and Process” (a drawing class with in-depth study of the science and cognitive impact of colors, and working with different color palettes), “Studio Painting II” (assigned painting projects, some quite lengthy), and “Photography I” (black-and-white, including developing and printing, and two significant portfolio projects).

The academic rigor requires significant self-discipline; there is at least 20 hours of homework per week (plus 18 hours of class time, plus 8 hours of commuting!).
